After being abruptly left out of the starting lineup for Chelsea's season opener against Manchester City last weekend, Raheem Sterling has made demands regarding his future at the club. The head coach of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca, gave no guarantees that Sterling would stay with the team after this transfer window ends at the conclusion of the month.
The likelihood of the England international sticking at Chelsea decreased even more after the team decided on Monday night to sign Joao Felix. There aren't many apparent destinations at first glance. Arsenal wants to strengthen their front line, but their hiring strategy does not accommodate a 29-year-old with enormous wages. Tottenham Hotspur has a surplus of wingers and is also prioritizing younger players.
3 clubs that Raheem Sterling can join this summer
3. Aston Villa
It wouldn't be shocking if Chelsea continued to pay a sizable portion of his salary in exchange for a loan agreement to another Premier League team. With them being one of the highest spenders in the league this season, they would love to add a winger of his quality to their team. Sterling might just love a move to Birmingham and would be lured by the fact that the Midlands club is also going to participate in the UEFA Champions League this season.
2. Al Nassr
In the past, Chelsea has cheerfully sold undesirable individuals to the Saudi Pro League. Last summer, N'Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly all departed Stamford Bridge for Saudi Arabia. The best teams in Saudi Arabia could at least equal Sterling's pay at Chelsea. Would Sterling, though, be open to taking that step? He turned down a substantial proposal from the Saudi Pro League in the past. With Sadio Mane on the verge of getting loaned out, Sterling can be a great option for the team led by Cristiano Ronaldo.
1. Juventus
According to reports from Italy, Juventus, one of the biggest teams in the country, has recently shown interest in acquiring Sterling, maybe due to concerns over the potential future of another winger named Federico Chiesa. Juventus has a history of signing prominent, aging players to high-paying contracts without hesitation. They signed Paul Pogba, 29, and Angel Di Maria, 34, on free transfers in 2022.
