What are Cheat Codes of Super Mario Bros?

Super Mario Bros is one of the first Mario games and possibly the one that everyone remembers. Alongside the game, the developers had hidden many secrets for players to uncover. Apart from the hidden power-ups and 1-ups, there are a few tricks that players can do to make their game much easier. These were discovered by various dedicated fans. However, there aren’t dedicated cheat codes for Super Mario Bros.

Here are some of the most popular cheat tricks for Super Mario Bros.

Level Skip

When almost at the end of World 1-2 players will have rising platforms. Jumping on these platforms to the highest wall and moving forward will give players three piers to either go into World 2, 3 or 4.

Unlimited 1-Ups

At World 3-1, when reaching the flag at the end of the level, there will be two turtles coming down the stairs. Jump at the second turtle and keep jumping at the edge of the turtle shell to keep yourself off the ground to get unlimited 1-ups. This can be a bit tricky as the wrong positioning will kick the turtle away.

Never give up

If players run out of lives usually they will start over, however, if they hold A and then press start on their controller the game will resume from the first level of the same world where you died.

Game Genie cheat codes for Super Mario Bros.

Since the game does not have many cheat codes, players can make use of external devices like Game Genie with their NES to have custom cheats which can make the game fun in different ways. Alternatively, players can also use an emulator that have support for Game Genie codes.
