Popular YouTuber and gamer Jonathan Amaral aka 'Jonathan Gaming' recently publicly apologised after a three-year-old video of him went viral, sparking widespread controversy. In the video, Jonathan can be heard instructing his teammate to refrain from speaking in Marathi and instead communicate in Hindi or English, citing that most of his audience only understands these languages.

The comments, made in a casual gaming session, were met with outrage from some activists who took to social media and organised a rally against Jonathan, accusing him of insulting the Marathi language.

In response to the backlash, Jonathan Gaming issued a heartfelt apology, acknowledging that his words were thoughtless. He expressed regret for any offense caused and assured his audience that he values diversity. Interestingly, Jonathan himself is a resident of Maharashtra and speaks Marathi.

The Indian Gaming industry has seen multiple controversies over the years whether it's about hacking or abusive language. However, this is the first time when a streamer got himself into a controversy over a language. Many fans on social media said that Jonathan didn't do anything wrong in this controversy, however, the star gamer handled the situation very calmly.
