Viper changes

Despite multiple nerfs to Viper, she has remained one of the top picks across the board due to her versatile gameplay. This was quite apparent during the recent Valorant Champions Tour, where she had the highest pick rate of any agents.

Riot Games themselves previously revealed that more nerfs to the characters are incoming, while addressing the outcry about Viper being nerfed in Patch 7.09. Here are all the changes to Viper in the latest patch.

  • Decreased the uptime of Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud to 12 seconds.

  • Increased minimum fuel requirement to activate smoke to 30%.

  • Poison Cloud can now only be picked up during the buy phase, once the round starts it cannot be retrieved.

  • Snake Bite, the ability that makes a poison puddle, has been reduced to 1 with a price small price increase. To compensate that, the duration has been increase by 1 second.

Cypher changes

Our spy agent wasn’t necessarily a menace across the board. However, the agent did have a few issues that gave Cypher players a huge advantage. These included the OP tap ability and the ability to rat out enemy teams without them knowing.

With the new update, Riot Games have aimed to give everyone an equal chance against Cypher. Check out all the changes below.

  • Cypher’s Trapwire ability saw a reduction in slow speed of opponents, giving them a chance to fight.

  • Additionally, re-arm time for Trapwire has been increased to 2 seconds from 1.

  • Players that are being watched by Spycam ability will now get a looping audio that warns them of the situation and a chance to take out the camera.

Apart from these nerf, voice lines for Chamber have also been updated alongside interaction lines with Reyna, Astra, and Omen. There are also multiple bug fixes for several other characters, like Killjoy’s turret detecting opponents through Harbor’s High Tide skill.
