Ubisoft buyout process still a work-in-progress with Tencent

It has come to notice that the Ubisoft’s Guillemot family has been deciding on how to structure the buyout of the company. As per recent updates, it is known that Ubisoft is in talks with Tencent for a potential buyout, with the conditions that they would retain some power and control over the company. Ubisoft has been facing financial discrepancies for  quite sometime now. They have not been able to meet the sales targets as per news reports, it is being told that Ubisoft is hence looking for buyers to sell out the company.

According to a leaked memo which was meant for the company employees, Ubisoft CEO mentioned that he has been trying his best to retain the control of the company. It is important to note that the company is running low on morale and most employees are uncertain about their position in the company.  

Previously, it is known that Tencent occupies around 10% of the Ubisoft company shares. With recent developments in the company situation, the French founders are expecting a way to retain their decision-making power in the company. As per news, stock prices of Ubisoft rose up to 14%, they are still in talks with Tencent and there have been no certain confirmation from the company on this.  

Assassin Creed release date postponed

Assassin Creed’s release was surprisingly put on hold and was shifted to February, 2025 release instead of November 2024. The decision for a late release was made recently and it will be important to see how the game will perform and how much money it will make in the market. It also needs to be noted that Star Wars Outlaws received extremely poor reception from the audience. The company is looking into other options that would help in safeguarding the future of the company.
