Riot Games has made a shocking revelation with the removal of Bleed Esports from Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific. The reason provided by Riot states that the team failed to comply with the critical reporting requirements and other key obligations. This gave Boom Esports another shot at the event after finishing as runner-up of VCT Ascension Pacific 2024.

“After careful consideration, Riot Games has decided to remove Bleed Esports from the VALORANT Champions Tour and VCT Pacific. Bleed Esports was terminated due to its failure to comply with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations under the Team Participation Agreement (TPA),” the official statement said.

The announcement further revealed that all the affected individuals were informed as soon as the decision was made. However, the lock-in period for VCT Pacific rosters is October 7 leaving players in a tight situation to look for new teams.

Boom Esports gets a lifeline

While the decision did bring some bad news for Bleed Esports, Boom Esports on the other hand have got a lifeline after losing an incredibly close match against Sin Prisa Gaming. The organization itself was in disbelief that they finally made it to the franchised teams.

“In line with our commitment to merit-based qualification, Boom Esports, the runner-up from Ascension Pacific 2024, will be promoted into the vacated slot. This change does not affect 2025 formats for VCT Pacific; the league will go forward with 12 teams as planned,” Riot added in their statement.

The CEO of Boom Esports also spoke on the matter, saying he also found out about this development a few hours prior. He further thanked all the support from the fans after the team lost to a few milliseconds of defuse in front of the home crowd.
