PUBG Champions League is one of the most popular esports events in China that further leads to the PUBG Global Series and awards points based on which teams can further qualify for the PUBG Global Championship. The tournament is set to kick off on April 20 in Shanghai, China and features a prize pool of over $400,000.
Format
A total of 24 local teams taking part in the tournament will be divided into three groups of eight, playing matches across five group stage rounds in a round-robin format. Each round will see all three groups play two matches.
The first three groups for Round 1 are already decided while from round 2 onwards, the group distribution will be decided as per previous round performance. At the end of round five, the top 16 teams in terms of points will move to the Playoffs.

The Playoffs will see an 18-match grand final with the top eight teams securing PGC Points while the top two will get a direct spot in the PUBG Global Series Phase 3 and 4 and will have a chance to further increase their score and secure their way to the PUBG Global Championship.
The Global Series is also set to start soon after the event in Shanghai itself but will also feature teams from multiple regions through partner programs and regional qualifiers like this one. As for the Global Championship, there is currently no fixed date. Teams are still grinding to secure a spot in the major PUBG tournament.
