One of the popular names across esports in India, Orangutan, has now made a huge decision, to say goodbye to the majority of its Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster after three long years. The official announcement was made across various social media posts.

The decision comes right after the team’s disappointing exit from BGIS 2024. Orangutan could not manage to face the flurry of multiple new rosters thrown at them and failed to make it into Round 4.

“Following the event, we came together as a team to reflect and engage in a meaningful discussion. It's never easy to say goodbye to teammates who have been such an integral part of our journey. But, in the spirit of growth and progress, we have mutually decided to part ways with Ash, Driger, and Coach Vedzz,” the org said in their post.

The team was once a behemoth in the BGMI scene, however, they haven’t been able to nab a big win even since the game was unbanned last year. Over the course of various, tournaments, the team had been going through multiple ups and downs.

Multiple new teams seem to have overshadowed Orangutan by qualifying for Round 4. The team managed to secure a decent spot via The Grind, but the exit from BGIS seems to be the final nail in the coffin which prompted the change.

Orangutan hits a reset button

With only AKop and WizzGOD left, the team may look in a dire situation. However, the org also reassured them that this was not the end for them. They still plan to compete and will be back with a new roster.

“Looking forward, our goal remains unchanged: to represent India on the global stage. To make this happen, we are shaking things up within our BGMI roster. Change can be uncertain, but it's all part of our journey towards greatness. We will be adding new players to our roster, athletes who share our vision and will help us achieve excellence,” the post further said.
