No Rest for the Wicked is a new Action RPG game by Moon Studios, creators of the Ori series. Unlike their other games, No Rest for the Wicked boasts a dark and grim atmosphere while combining it with some of the most beautiful and unique set pieces and storytelling.

The game launched to a mixed review and that was mainly due to the performance issues which were caused by low frames and unnecessary stutters during fights. After the release, there were multiple updates to the game that aimed to fix these issues, and over time the players mellowed out.

It is still being updated and plans to add a lot more as it launched in early access. The expansion updates aim to introduce more areas, boss fights and co-op and even PvP modes. Even after everything mentioned in Moon Studios’ roadmap is added, the developers aim to support the game for a long time.

“Nowhere near done with the game”

Moon Studios CEO, Thomas Mahler, in a recent tweet, revealed that the studio aims to support the game with new content for the next 5 to 10 years. This means, even after the full release, there will be a lot more in the game.

In a recent tweet, Mahler made their intentions very clear. He said, “Folks, we're nowhere near done with No Rest for the Wicked. There is so much that we've already built that none of you even know about, and we want to deliver this in a masterful way!”

He calls No Rest for the Wicked, their ‘Lord of the Rings’, their Magnum Opus with full release at version 1 as ‘Fellowship of the Ring’ with much more to come. “We always had lofty ambitions, and we said we're going to contribute in a huge way to the ARPG genre and that is our intention”, he added.

One of the fans in comment also suggested that they add paid expansions to the game in future instead of making an entire new game, to which Mahler agreed, saying ‘that's the plan’.

Currently, the game is in a weird spot, the story, concept and gameplay are very solid, but the combat can be unforgiving. Paired with the performance issues and weird WASD controls, it can be a bit frustrating. The developers have said that they are working to resolve these issues.
