People who worked in this AI technology claim that the company uses their work to aid the Israeli Military in killing the people of Gaza. The Israeli government is at war against Hamas, which is controlling Gaza. In 2023, a huge number of Hamas Militants entered Israel through parachutes and opened fire at people and kidnapped many into Gaza.

Israel then took counterterror measures by bombing Gaza and fighting the Hamas-controlled territory. Apart from militants, thousands of innocent civilians are getting killed every day. Microsoft is assisting the bombing through their AI technology and analysing the militant areas in Gaza.

But People say AI can't be trusted fully as it could even make mistakes, and with that, there is a possibility of loss of innocent civilian life. During the AI conference, a female employee questioned Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, saying Microsoft has blood on their hands, killing innocent people in Gaza.

Another indian origin employee confronted Chairman Bill Gates, and these two employees were fired. Now, Microsoft itself has broken its silence regarding those incidents and has given new statements. The statement said, “Based on these reviews, including interviewing dozens of employees and assessing documents, we have found no evidence to date that Microsoft's Azure and AI technologies have been used to target or harm people in the conflict in Gaza.”

It continued, “Like all our customers, the IMOD's use of our technology is bound by Microsoft's terms of service and conditions of use, including our Acceptable Use Policy and our AI Code of Conduct. These require customers to implement core responsible AI practices - such as human oversight and access controls - and prohibit the use of our cloud and AI services in any manner that inflicts harm on individuals or organisations or affects individuals in any way that is prohibited by law.”

But many brands are boycotting Microsoft after identifying their role in the Israel-Hamas war. Another game developer, Tenderfoot Tactics, has removed their entire game lineup from Xbox to support the boycott.
