The present manager for BetBoom Team Luka 'Lukawa' Nasuashvili has now accused Team Falcons of unsportsmanlike behaviour after their win. The accusation pertains to the most recent grand finale between Team Falcons and BetBoom Team at ESL One Birmingham 2024.

Team Falcons took down BetBoom Team by a landslide in the best of five, and now Lukawa claims that Team Falcons refused to shake hands with players at BetBoom after winning the Championship.

Shaking hands and congratulating your opponents after the match no matter the outcome is common in any game, not just esports. Team Falcons skipping this part entirely to lift the trophy didn’t seem to sit well with the manager for BetBoom Team, which he made clear.

Lukawa called this behaviour disrespectful to the team, adding, “Trash talking is one thing, not shaking hands after the game is clownery. Well, everyone has a choice. If you do not respect your opponent, nobody will respect you, that’s all I think.”

Before the match, there was a bit of trash-talking between the teams, with TORONTOTOKYO calling Team Falcons’ mid-player to ‘not cry like a b***h after the game’. This type of trash talk is quite common for any game to create hype. However, many fans started speculating that this was the reason why Team Falcons approached their opponents to shake hands at the end.

Team Falcons’ response

Following the allegations, Oliver 'skiter' Lepko from Team Falcons responded to the situation to Lukawa saying the organizers wanted them to go and raise the trophy immediately after the win which is why they did not have the time for handshakes.

So, as it turns out, it was just a simple misunderstanding and not a sign of hostility or conflict between the two teams after the trash talk, which many were considering to be the case. Both sides have professional players playing at the highest level
