First announced back in 2013, a movie based on Watch Dogs has finished filming. The announcement came from Ubisoft, who had been quiet regarding anything until a few months ago when the company officially announced the film in partnership with New Regency back in July. As per reports, Tom Blyth will be taking on the lead role.

As for the plot and what the movie is based around, Ubisoft has been very tight-lipped and details are yet to be revealed. While the announcement came a long time ago alongside other projects, it seems that the filming started just a few months back, which raises another question regarding what type of movie people can expect.

Ever since the movie was originally announced, Ubisoft has released two sequels to the original game, Watch Dogs 2 and Watch Dogs Legion. That is why it is hard to tell which game was the one inspiring story for the movie or if any the movie will also follow an original story.

Hearing something from a decade ago coming back to life is quite a surprise for fans, as the Watch Dogs movie reportedly suffered multiple delays. Although video game adaptations in general already raised scepticism among the fan base of the franchise, the Watch Dogs movie has been able to grab the attention. The question is, for how long?
