One of the top esports organizations in India, Revenant Esports is reportedly planning a comeback to the Counter-Strike esports scene and this time, they are bringing larger guns. A recent report from Dust2.in reveals that the org is signing a roster of international players.

The new roster is set to feature some OG players like NBK and Reiko alongside lauNX, Nivera and adeX. Reports say that the team was spotted in scrims. With how the team has been scrimming together, an official announcement can be expected very soon.

Last year saw Revenant Esports bid farewell to its Counter-Strike roster and exiting the scene. A few months back, there were rumours floating around the organization signing NBK and lauNX which now seems to be coming true alongside more players.

Fans have mixed reactions

With the news spreading among Counter-Strike fans, many have expressed their support for the team for their decision, saying they might be trying to grow the Indian esports scene. Others have argued that this might not be as helpful as there is no Indian player in the team, so the region might not benefit.

A majority of the older roster for Revenant Esports was picked up by Gods Reign, who have been playing across various events. Most recently, the team competed at Skyesports Masters 2024.

The Indian Counter-Strike scene has been quite weak since there wasn’t much opportunity for players after the Forsaken cheating scandal. While teams were made locally, they were not able to compete with internal rosters as effectively. Furthermore, the introduction of games like BGMI and Valorant opened up other doors for them.

At this time, most of the fans suggest that organisations should focus on getting a good coach instead of players who can guide good players to become great and able to compete on an international level. Furthermore, they should also try to stick with a single roster for much longer to create synergy between the players.
