After long in the middle brackets, both HEROIC and ENCE have once gained fumbled the bag once again in the last chance, leading them straight to de_airport. FURIA Esports took down ENCE while HEROIC lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Crushing defeat for ENCE
ENCE has seen some surprising losses this season of the ESL Pro League. Their defeat against GamerLegion pushed them to the last-chance qualifier against FURIA Esports, against whom, they lost 2-0 after somehow throwing both of the games back to back.
The opening match in the best of three was on Nuke, which was picked by FURIA. ENCE built a huge lead in the first half of 8:4 and all they needed were four more rounds. Sadly, the team could only muster one while FURIA marched through their defences.
A similar thing happened on the second map, which was picked by ENCE. The team once again mustered an 8:4 lead in the first half. However, they somehow once again managed to throw everything aside and went on a losing streak of nine rounds in the second half.
The final score stood at 13-9 and 13-8, both in favour of FURIA Esports.
HEROIC wastes their last opportunity
This will be the third time HEROIC has lost in this fashion. The team matched with Ninjas in Pyjamas, and what happened made players feel like they were watching an old match once again.
The team started by defeating the opponent in their own map pick with a dominating first half and closing the match with another great performance from Sjuush and TeSeS. However, when it came to their own map pick, the team saw a bit of a tough fight.
The first half went by in favour of Ninjas in Pyjamas, but HEROIC tried to even the score. Sadly it wasn’t enough, leading them into the decider which once again saw Ninjas in Pyjamas dominating, ending the game similarly. Previous losses for HEROIC against Complexity and BIG also came in the same manner.
The final score was 5-13, 13-10 and 13-10 in favour of Ninjas in Pyjamas.
