Gray Zone Warfare, an upcoming realistic extraction shooter game, has now made a surprise announcement for the release date of the game. Previously, the game was in a closed testing, with only a few people like popular streamers getting access to it.

The release announcement for Gray Zone comes right after the recent Escape From Tarkov controversy regarding the $250 Unheard edition of the game. Amidst the rampant cheating problem, the gamers are happy with the decision from Tarkov Devs and Gray Zone Warfare seems to be aiming to pull players on their side.

Over the last month, the game has been doing a playtest to further improvements and is now set to release in Early Access on April 30. It is currently only available on PC through Steam with the base game costing $35 alongside other supporter bundles that go up to $100 in price.

First PC title for the developers

The game will be an MMO type developed by MADFINGER Games with other players also roaming around in the same instance. While the studio has previous experience in game development, those were mobile games. Gray Zone Warfare will be their first PC title and have a huge audience to satisfy.

During the test, there were not many players so it was mostly PvE, but the early access launch might be different with more player encounters and fights. Most players might not even feel a difference between Tarkov and Gray Zone.

There is a limb damage system, blood loss, limping and all the things that could realistically happen. The only issue will likely be the game stability. During the testing, the game sometimes crashed for many who were streaming. Players hope that the issue is fixed and that the launch will be stable.

Furthermore, the game will use an easy anti-cheat which is once again decent but Tarkov suffered a heavy inflow of cheaters despite having Battle-eye anti-cheat. Players can only hope that EAC does its job properly against cheaters.
