Fortnite could return to ios devices in the US as Apple loses legal battle against Epic games

Popular mobile game Fortnite could soon return to ios devices as Epic Games gives a new update. In 2020, Fortnite allowed its players to purchase the game currency or packs directly from their store. This made fans avoid the 30% payment to ios, which made Apple very angry at Epic Games.

The American tech company immediately removed the Fortnite game from their iStore, and it provoked a long legal battle. After five years of legal battle, the issue is finally settled in court. The verdict was crisp and clear that no gamer needs to pay anything to ios for in-game purchases.

Fortnite returns to ios soon

So the FPS game will soon return to Apple users in the US. Tim Sweeney, the founder of Epic Games, announced that the players will be able to play Fortnite on ios within a week. We still don't know the exact date of the arrival, but gamers will be very happy to hear the news.

Apple always gets a 30% share of the apps in its App Store. But the in-game purchases cannot be claimed by any brand, and it is a business between the game developer and the gamer. Android doesn’t get any share for in-game purchases, and Apple has finally understood how it's working.

Epic Games has submitted Fortnite for review, and once the ios maker allows it, it will be available to download in the App Store. The Fortnite community is also very hopeful to play the game on their Apple devices, which have far more capability. 

When Fortnite was allowed in the European Union, they gave a Katalina Skin for free. This is earned once the gamers enter the game and earn some XP. Now that they have won the legal battle in the US, we expect the same kind of treatment for the US gamers. 

Just now, the latest season of Fortnite has been released, and the US ios gamers will play a newly updated version of the game, which they played five years ago on their Apple devices. They can also get the new Galactic battle pass and get the latest items and cosmetics.
