After 7 long years, Fnatic seems to be once again stepping into the Overwatch esports scene as confirmed by an official post by the professional esports organization on X labelled “Back in the Fight”.

Fnatic is one of the most popular esports org with teams across some of the biggest esports titles including Apex Legends, Counter-Strike, League of Legends and more. They exited the Overwatch esports scene back in 2017, only three years after entering in 2015.

During their break from the Overwatch esports scene, a lot has changed. The game saw its sequel and the introduction of the Overwatch Champion Series which replaced the Overwatch League and provided more teams with opportunities to compete.

Professional players, organisations, Fans and even the official Overwatch Esports have welcomed the team back. Who knows, maybe we will see the team compete at the OWCS Dreamhack Dallas Major. Currently, the org has given anyone nothing more than the teaser. Fans expect an announcement revealing the roster soon.

A few hours before this, the org announced a comeback in the Street Fighter esports scene by signing Chris Wong, who recently secured the second spot at the Capcom Cup X.

Fnatic acts quick

The announcement comes a day after the esports organization was revealed as one of the 30 partners at the Esports World Cup (ESWC) Foundation Club Support Program. As part of the program, the organization will be receiving funding to expand into different games.

As the partnership states, “Members of the EWCF Club Support Program can receive six-figure funding to enter into new esports titles at the highest level”. It seems that Fnatic is wasting no time and doubling down on its esports endeavours to reach its peak popularity once again.

Other popular organizations might also start their journey once again like Fnatic across different games that they previously exited or are yet to enter.
