Riot Games have now officially announced Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok as the first inductee to its Hall of Legends for League of Legends, which comes as no surprise considering how much the player has achieved to this date.

When the Hall of Legends was first announced back in January, Faker was undoubtedly one of the names that came to everyone’s mind when they heard the announcement. With this, the four-time world champion will now have his efforts in the game celebrated.

President of Esports at Riot Games, John Needham said, “Faker is truly the most iconic and influential figure in League of Legends and esports history. His name is synonymous with excellence in LoL Esports, and he has rightfully earned his place as our very first Hall of Legends inductee.”

The trailer is out now and the full film honouring his achievements will be released on June 14. In order to celebrate his achievement, Mercedes-Benz have also created a custom Mercedes-AMG SL 63 for Faker alongside a poster.

What is LoL Hall of Legends?

The Hall of Legends is an initiative by Riot Games where the players in League of Legends esports will be celebrated for their achievements throughout their journey. There wasn’t an official list regarding who will be joining as Legends.

However, it was made pretty clear that fans will see some of the best players in the game make their way into the Hall of Legends. The selection for these players is supposedly a long process that involves voting for players, which goes through a panel of judges from various regions.

Riot Games had also put out a few criteria that the players had to match in order to be considered for the Hall of Legends. Of course, it might not have been that hard for the first selection, considering his list of achievements and his title of ‘The Unkillable Demon King’.
