It is the latest season of Fortnite, sending players into a vast wasteland. Along with the update, there are multiple map changes and net unique items for players to acquire and missions to complete. The season also focuses on vehicular combat, similar to Mad Max. Let’s check out everything there is to the latest season.

New Points of Interest

A storm has turned our beloved map into a wasteland and with that, we now have multiple new Points of Interests (POIs) to explore. These areas are populated with ‘Wasteland Warriors’ with each POI being run by a different NPC.

Redline Rig - A Nitro refinery run by The Machinist, a master mechanic.

Nitrodrome - Run by Ringmaster Scarr, master of ceremonies

Brutal Beachhead - The base of operation for Wasteland Warriors, run by ‘Megalo Don’.

What is Nitro?

The main ingredient this season is nitro, which is used by both the vehicles and players. When used by players, it grants buffs like sprint and reload speed, decreased stamina use, fall damage immunity and other buffs. As for vehicles, it can increase their speed, deal damage and knock-back, and buff all mods.

Speaking of buffs, players can equip their vehicles with several mods that can make it a lethal weapon. Here are all the mods for vehicles -

  • Machine Gun Turret (roof slot) - Have a passenger fire a machine gun while someone else drives!
  • Grenade Launcher Turret (roof slot) - Some would call this littering, but the Grenades will get rid of themselves by exploding.
  • Spiked Bumper (front bumper slot) - Deal more damage to players and objects on impact.
  • Cow Catcher (front bumper slot) - Boost your ramming power and give your car some defensive armour.
  • Bulletproof Tires (tire slot) - Tired of tire poppers? Make your tire indestructible!
  • Chonkers Off-Road Tires (tires slot) - Make your car more off-road friendly. Especially, useful if you’re not driving an SUV!

Defeating the Wasteland Warriors

Players can visit each of these areas and fight with the boss running. After defeating, each boss will drop loot and a unique medallion that will give players buffs for the duration of the match. However, other players might also be on the lookout for the same, so be careful!

The Machinist

The Machinist - Defeating the Machinist will reward players with her Combat Assault Rifle and a medallion that will regenerate your Shield over time! Defeating her in inside Redline Rig will also allow players to get her car.

Ringmaster Scarr

Ringmaster Scarr - Defeating Ringmaster Scarr will give players her Boom Bolt and a medallion that will give you infinite ammo and a small damage buff. Her weapon Boom Bolt shoots an explosive arrow in rather quick succession. Like the Machinist, defeating Ringmaster Scarr in her Nitrodrome will allow players to quickly get her vehicle.

Megalo Don

Megalo Don - Similar to all two NPC bosses, Megalo Don will also drop players his Nitro Fists and a medallion that will infuse players with infinite Nitro. Nitro Fists are melee combat gloves that pack a heavy punch. It comes with four charges that replenish with time and can charge players in the air. Hitting the ground with a charge will create an Area of Effect (AoE) damage. Players can also get their hands on his vehicle.

Other additions

Nuka-Cola - The signature drink from Fallout series, Nuka-Cola is also added to the game. Once consumed, players will restore a bit of Health and some Shield.

Kind Cacti - Slurp Cactus will be available through the wasteland, players can harvest them and use them as heals. For people who are lazy, they can simply run over the Slurp Cactus to heal themselves and the vehicle.
