The next Battlefield game is all set to be another live service game, but this time Electronic Arts (EA) pinky promises everything will be alright. In a recent earnings call, the CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson revealed that the upcoming Battlefield game is being worked on by the largest team.

Battlefield 2042 release back in 2021 came out as a massive failure. After, showing off massive multiplayer arenas with ground & aerial combat, and customization while creating an insane hype around the game, the game came out in a barely playable state missing basic features like a party system, scoreboard and other things in the mix.

Season 7 for the Battlefield 2042 market, the end of its development cycle as the company moved on to another title in the series. EA themselves have reported that they learned from their past mistakes and will not repeat them again.

EA taking things seriously for once?

The company last month moved multiple development studios, including developers of Dead Space, Motive studios, with DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect to develop the new Battlefield game which will reportedly feature a single-player campaign as well as a unique multiplayer experience.

“This is the largest Battlefield team in franchise history. A few weeks ago, I was visiting with the teams, and I couldn’t be more excited about what they showed and what we were able to play,” Wilson said.

Of course, all the corporate talk from EA will mean nothing if they fail to deliver on the expectations of the fans. The company already have a history of disappointing fans across multiple beloved video game titles, which is leaving many fans sceptical of their words.

All we can hope is that players finally get a good game from the franchise they love. Older Battlefield games like Bad Company 2 were considered the peak of its franchise, and players will likely be ready to pay the full price for an experience like that once again.
