Dream Cricket 2024
Sports Technologies, the parent company for Dream 11, one of the most popular fantasy cricket apps, is in the process of developing and improving Dream Cricket 2024, a mobile cricket game with stunning visuals and gameplay. Since last year, the game has improved a lot with a multitude of updates.
Since the open beta launch, the game has amassed over 1 million downloads. Thanks to it free to play and easy to get into, design. Players are also able to play both batting and bowling sides with popular licensed cricketers and teams.
Gameplay
Players are greeted with a short tutorial on logging in for the first time. This provides them with the mechanics of bowling and batting, which are quite simple to learn but can take some time to master.
The bowling provides players an option for spin direction, the ball location and how much power they want to put in. Additionally, players can also change bowling positions to right or left hand. As for batting, players can adjust the power and choose to take a grounded shot or go for risky play.
Fielding positions can also be changed as per some given presets, and players also get a replay of their last gameplay which includes boundaries, wickets or even regular shots through a cinematic camera.
There are also multiple game modes to play, including PvP matches, tournaments and leaderboard. Few of the matches require entry tickets, which can be earned by completing events and challenges. These tournaments and events also allow players to recruit more players to their team and also give them a chance to win real rewards.
Like cricket on PC, Dream Cricket also have options to purchase player packs, those who want to grind the players can also complete tournament and challenges making the game completely free to play. However, people paying for the pack could likely be at an advantage if the team SAR have any significance as one of the modes.
Issues
The issues currently are mostly technical. While the game does have a low device requirement in order to have it more accessible to everyone, the graphics can cause heating issues in older models, which have been reported in some cases. The heating issue then turns into a faster battery drain.
Some players have expressed their dissatisfaction with team and profile customization, which they expect to be updated in future alongside even more optimization. Currently, if players miss or skip something, there is also no way to get a rerun in the game, which is also a small negative.
With Indus Battle Royale in development and now the release of Dream Cricket, the Made in India campaign for the video game industry is seemingly going quite well. It would be no surprise to see even more games in the next few years.
