The upcoming sci-fi PvP arena shooter from Firewalk Studios, Concord, has now been listed on the PlayStation store and is available for pre-order. The official release of the game will be announced on August 23, 2024.
The announcement for the game came during the recent State of Play, featuring five playable characters. The full release for the game, however, will feature 16 characters. The gameplay for Concord seemed like a mix of Overwatch, and Destiny 2 Crucible with a Guardians of the Galaxy theme.
All Concord editions
The game currently has two editions players can choose from. There is currently no news regarding the PC editions, but it is believed that they will have the same editions. Regardless of which editions players get, pre-ordering will get them access to the closed beta set to take place sometime in July.
- Standard Edition - The Standard Edition for Concord is priced at $39.99 and will only provide players with the base game that will be playable on launch. All characters will be playable on launch.
- Digital Deluxe Edition - The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $59.99 will have the base game and will allow players to play up to 72 hours early. Players will also get 16 character skins alongside the Monarch Pack.
With a price tag matching AAA games for the deluxe edition, Concord does make things quite interesting. Online PvP games usually launch as free-to-play in order to onboard as many players as possible. Overwatch also initially launched as a full-priced game but later chose the free-to-play path.
Although the game is also a next-gen multiplayer title, so few players seem excited. The full story or at least the initial reviews will be out during the beta phase when players will finally get their hands on the game.
