Steam has now revealed the best-selling games of 2024 and more by revenue and fans will be surprised to see games much older making it to the top of the list. These include games like PUBG, which was released back in 2017. Single-player games like Baldur's Gate 3, and Elden Ring also found themselves leading the pack along with a few hit releases of last year.
A survey released by Valve previously revealed that gamers are shifting away from the latest game releases. Year-end stats for 2024 revealed that only 15% of the gamers played games released that year while over 47% went for games released up to seven years back. The recent best-selling list seems to align with this data.
Few games did leave a mark and were among the only ones to reach Platinum. These were Black Myth: Wukong, Helldivers 2, Palworld, COD Black Ops 6, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 whose success has now spawned a third entry in the franchise.
