Season 21 for Apex Legends is just around the corner and the devs have released a new trailer for the upcoming Legend ‘Alter’. The trailer shows off Alter as a highly skilled assassin with some mechanical implants, including a tail from the previous teasers.
Alter can be seen describing her past to all assassination targets, but the story changes with for everyone who asks who is she. The official post itself says, “If you ask Alter "Who are you?" she will never give you an honest answer.”
Who is Alter?
Her character is depicted as a maniacal one, quite opposite to Revenant, who was also a hitman. Alter seems to be much more terrifying. Moving forward into the trailer, Alter can be seen landing in the new arena. What got the fans confused even more is she drops an image of Horizon and her son with a cryptic message, “I’m the one at the end… or am I?”
As the name suggests, Alter could be an alter version of someone. The lore for Horizon also describes an assistant, as Ash was an apprentice. For the full lore for the character, players will have to wait a little.
Alter’s abilities have currently not been revealed, however, leakers suggests they are something similar to another Legend, Wraith’s portal ability. Although, there hasn’t been any connection revelations between both of them yet.
Apex solos returning to season 21
Season 21 is also set to bring back the long awaited solos game mode. Apex Legends usually features trios or duos option to players. The last time players ha a chance to play solos was during Season 2. Of course, one can queue solo in other modes, however, they will be at a disadvantage especially in such a fast-paced game.
It is currently clear if the game mode will be time-limited like the previous one, or will be a permanent addition to the game. Although, players are banking on a permanent mode after Apex Legends announced first-ever Solos Showdown starting May 5.
