Apex Legends Season 21 brings map changes and reveals abilities for new legend Alter

Season 21 Upheaval is set to bring some sweet changes. Most awaited of them all is the solo mode, which was previously revealed to be never coming back to Apex. However, there is a little catch as the new mode will be removing duos. Players can still queue duos vs squads.

There are also some big map changes to Broken Moon. The map is now floating between Cleo and Boreas and features several new Points of Interest (POIs). Promenade is now replaced by Quarantine Zone after the location was wiped out by the Stasis Array Node. While other areas are not completely wiped out like Promenade, they have seen some huge changes aimed at a faster gameplay loop.

Alter Abilities

Along with that, we are also getting a new legend named Alter. Apex recently launched a teaser for the mysterious character and players are already talking about using her as their main legend thanks to all of her abilities revealed with the season overview.

The new legend works something like Wraith but better in some cases. Her abilities look quite handy and can help the player get an advantage in various situations like ambushing, etc. Let’s check out her abilities.

Passive: Gift From The Rift

Alter can interact with the death boxes to take one item of choice, except shield cores, without getting close to the box. This can allow her to quickly pick up emergency ammo, weapons and other things.

Tactical: Void Passage

Void Passage allows Alter to laser a surface to open a void portal on the other side. This can be used to pass through solid objects. The angle of the shooting void passage also determines the exit.

Ultimate: Void Nexus

Void Nexus allows Alter to place a deactivated teleport device in a spot, which can be activated at any time to bring it back to the same spot. Once Alter travels through the ability, it will be open for everyone.
