EA FC is reportedly getting an open-world update, with the new feature currently in development, with EA calling this the ‘Virtual Playground’. As per reports, players will be able to roam around using their custom characters and interact with other players. This feature will closely resemble Park from NBA 2K, which was highly praised.

With how much freedom, NBA 2K’s Park gave the players, EA FC's new open-world feature is also sounding like a huge win for the players. As of now, RUSH matches are the closest to what FC players get to play with others. Having a dedicated open world where you can team up with friends and others will be a game changer.

The ability to roam around with your custom character and the possibility of competing in 11v11 matches with friends or random players have left everyone impressed. This also gives the developers a chance to introduce virtual stadiums, emotes and a lot of other things.

Open World not coming to EA FC 25

One thing that isn’t sitting well with fans is that the new open-world mode is currently in development. This means that players will likely not see it inside the recently released FC 25. EA will most likely save this feature for the FC 26 release, since it will be a complete overhaul of the game and is a potential moneymaker for the company.

Another issue players are worried about in the open world is the online servers. Being with other players in an instance can be a lot harder on the servers. EA will likely need to improve upon that aspect too to provide a stable experience for everyone.

The game already faces a lot of critique over multiple issues, and bad servers will only harm its reputation. However, successful implementation in NBA 2K gives hope that things will work out just fine for EA FC.
