He was asked how the gaming industry in India is giving people a new career path to choose from. Responding to the query, Agarwal talks about how esports professional is now a huge thing. Hundreds of talented players are now entering the professional scene every year.

Not only that, there are multiple jobs in the gaming industry apart from being a professional gamer, but those jobs still play a huge role in the gaming industry. These include game development, casters, organizers, or multiple specialists like animators, designers and much more which provide different opportunities to people.

Agarwal also briefly touched on the topic of AI and how it can help the gaming Industry and the people working there. AI for now has been quite a controversial topic worldwide for now, but he believes it will help in future.

This trend will continue even more in the future with multiple new esports organizations, according to Agarwal. He advises aspiring players to keep a lookout out for these opportunities in the coming months and years.

Contribution to economic growth

On being asked about its role in economic growth, Agarwal talks about how the gaming industry in India grew to a massive size during the COVID-19 pandemic. The industry is currently growing at a CAGR of over $3 billion currently with estimates of reaching over $7 billion by 2029 as per Mordor Intelligence, which he also touched upon.

This is also leading to various Job opportunities in the aforementioned roles. The Make in India program paired with the gaming industry is pairing well in this process of boosting this initiative. A great example is the upcoming Made in India Battle Royale title “Indus” by SuperGaming.

The government have already recognized esports as part of multi-sports events and has taken multiple initiatives to promote its growth. Players are now representing their countries on an International level.
