Esports is a very big industry as of 2024, however, securing a space in it is also not easy. There are a lot of video games released each year aiming to make it big in the esports scene. Sadly, most of them fail to reach the quality that players desire in an esports title. Although, there are a few anticipated games from veteran developers and studios that have experience in the industry.
Here are five big upcoming games that might make it big in the esports scene:

Previously known as Project L, 2XKO is an upcoming fighting game in a League of Legends universe. The developers have been working on the game for quite some time. Players first got a glimpse of the game at EVO 2023, following that, the game has now moved on to the closed beta phase.
2XKO will be a 2v2 fighting game, however, there could be more additions during the development. The official announcement recently revealed that the developers will be engaging more with the community this year. There will be multiple testing phases across many fighting game tournaments.
Players will be able to get hands-on experience in the game at these events. Those who are not able to attend can register for the closed beta testing phase. At the moment, there are only four playable characters. The full release of the game is planned for early 2025.

The launch of PUBG was iconic and took over the internet very quickly. Now that the market has been saturated with Battle Royale games, Krafton has announced a new game from the same developers called PUBG Black Budget.
This time around, Krafton is opting for extraction shooter-type gameplay, which will be PvPvE. Extraction shooters have become very popular nowadays, with the likes of Escape from Tarkov, Deceive Inc., Hunt: Showdown, Dark and Darker and many more.
There are also many more upcoming extraction shooter games. Black Budget, however, is likely aiming to recreate the same level of success as the original PUBG. Release for the game is planned for the second hand of 2024.

It is also one of the few RTS games aiming big to reach esports level in the era of Battle Royale and other FPS games. The game already has a Steam page up and revealed that it will be the next-gen game made using Unreal Engine 5.
The game will also feature a single-player campaign with co-op, 3v3 multiplayer game games along with a competitive leaderboard and Level editor. All of this will be free to play. Stormgate entered closed beta last year in December and is expected to launch in 2024.

One of the biggest PC and console franchises is set to land on mobile phones as a new competitive game. Rainbow Six Mobile will be the mobile version of Rainbow Six Siege, featuring similar gameplay. Looking at the current popularity of Siege, the game will likely be popular on mobile.
The game features a fully destructible environment and a variety of agents will be different on both sides. Siege is nothing like your regular tactical shooter and will likely require a lot of learning curve for players not familiar with the game.
Mobile games in recent years have also seen huge success. There is no doubt that Ubisoft is also aiming to jump into the mobile esports scene. The game is currently in Beta testing across Canada, Mexico, Chile and Colombia and is planned to launch worldwide in September 2024.
1. Valorant Mobile

Valorant is another popular tactical shooter by Riot Games, which is also set to join the Mobile esports line-up. The game has been in development for quite some time now due to so many complex abilities and optimizations.
As per the developers, they want to do a complete release for the game and make it on par with Valorant on PC. There are not many tactical shooter games in Mobile esports, so the chances for shooting up in popularity for the game are very high.
Currently, there is no fixed release date for Valorant Mobile, however, the game has reportedly been in development since 2021 and fans believe it will likely be released by the end of this year. Especially when there is a similar game by competitors currently in beta testing.
