India's young and sensational batter, Abhishek Sharma, is known for his strokeplay and fearless batting. After having a terrific 2024 IPL season, he was included in India's T20I squad for the Zimbabwe series, where he scored a century. However, he was excluded from the T20I squad for the Sri Lanka series for unknown reasons. He again got a call-up from the selectors for the ongoing series against Bangladesh, where he got out cheaply in the first game.
After his flop show, former India legend and Abhishek's mentor Yuvraj Singh took a dig at him for throwing away his wicket. Recently, Abhishek uploaded his photo from the first match on Instagram and captioned it, "Every run, every ball, it's all for the team. Great start to the series." On the same picture, one of the users commented, "Can feel a big one coming."
However, Yuvraj replied to the same comment and said, "Only if we apply our brains properly." This seemed more like a sarcastic comment for Abhishek, who scored just 16 runs off 7 balls, including two boundaries and one six. Yuvraj's concern for Abhishek comes from a place where he knows about the competition in the Indian team and how a player has to be consistent with his performance, or else it won't take longer for them to be replaced.
India vs Bangladesh to play 2nd T20I game on October 9
After a brilliant performance in the 1st T20I game, India are set to take on Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I game on October 9. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team India will look to lock the series by winning the 2nd game against the visitors. Bangladesh's performance has been disappointing in the T20I series as well, but they still have time to bounce back and win the game. The series will be levelled if they win the game, and the last game will be a decider.
Moreover, India have some brilliant players like Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya who wouldn't let the series slip away. After this series, India will play a 3-match Test series against New Zealand, starting on October 16 in Bengaluru.
