Former India batter and coach Sanjay Bangar has given huge warning to Rohit Sharma and his side ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy finals. Bangar has advised Team India to show caution against Rachin Ravindra in the massive finals on Sunday. The left-handed batter has scored 226 runs so far and just needs two runs to go past Ben Duckett as the leading scorer. Ravindra has already hit two centuries in the ongoing tournament.
The former India was quoted as saying “India will have to be ready for him as despite trying to find out, you can’t find a weakness in Rachin Ravindra. All you can do is to bowl wide of the off-stump. New Zealand are a team that can challenge India as they have quality players who are in form. It is 60-40 in favour of India, but the advantage is not big as New Zealand will prepare for every situation and they are one team, who comes up with several plans”
Rachin Ravindra didn’t play the first match of the tournament against Pakistan. He was included in the playing XI for the match against Bangladesh where he scored a ton. This was followed by a failure against India in the final group match. The 25-year-old then scored a century in the semi-final vs South Africa to record his fifth ton in ICC tournaments.
Rachin Ravindra: Key player for New Zealand vs India
Young Rachin Ravindra has already left the world stunned with his amazing batting. The left-handed batter combined forces with Kane Williamson as the two stars posted centuries to help their side reach 362 on the board. The pair also added a stand of 164 runs for the second wicket after losing Will Young for 21.
Speaking at the end of the game, Ravindra said “It is always a great feeling to contribute to the team. In a pretty emphatic win in a semi-final too, it is extremely pleasing and could not be happier. I did not start as well as I would have wanted. South Africa bowled really well which limited me a little bit”
The young opening batter also said “I will keep working through the ebbs and flows of one-day cricket because in an innings where you face over 100 balls, you are bound to scratch around for a little bit, so it was nice to have the guys out there to help me."
