Shubman Gill breaking records

Gill has been in great form in the ongoing IPL season and was the point of difference for the team as his outstanding effort helped Gujarat Titans (GT) defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in their IPL 2025 match. Shubman Gill led the chase with an outstanding, undefeated 61 from 43 deliveries.  He formed vital partnerships with Washington Sundar (49 off 29) and Sherfane Rutherford (35 off 16) during his innings, which included nine boundaries and a strike rate of 141.86.

In the end, he led Gujarat Titans to a convincing victory with 21 balls remaining.  It was Shubman Gill's maiden fifty of the current IPL 2025 after a string of strong starts. The GT skipper has now amassed 146 runs at an average of 48.66 across four innings.  With his undefeated innings, Shubman Gill reached the 50-run milestone for the 25th time in his IPL career, adding to his four hundred and twenty-one half-centuries.  Consequently, Gill made history by being the youngest player in the IPL to reach a quarter-century of 50 or more runs.

Now, GT faces RR at home, and Shubman Gill will want the team to win, which will help the team climb to first place in the points table. Since IPL 204, Shubman Gill was appointed as captain of the team after Hardik Pandya left the team to join the Mumbai Indians. Gill started his IPL career with KKR in 2018 at the age of 19, scoring ten half-centuries before joining GT in 2022, where he has since amassed four hundred and fifteen more half-centuries.
