Mohammed Shami played his first game after a break of 360 days and was magical. His spell in both the innings of the Ranji Trophy game for Bengal against Madhya Pradesh was nothing less than sheer brilliance. Being one of the most experienced players, Shami dismantled the stumps and sent the players back to the pavilion with ease. Several experts have urged BCCI to send the lethal bowler to Australia for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.
Former India player Sourav Ganguly has shown his trust in Shami and talked about his need to go to Australia rather than play more domestic games. As per a few reports, BCCI asked Shami to play in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy before playing for India. Shami claimed seven wickets in the game against MP, raising his chances of selection in the BGT 2024.

Shubman Gill to miss first Test match in Perth: Reports
A big blow comes for India as Shubman Gill is about to miss the upcoming first Test match against Australia due to his finger injury. During the simulation game, Gill was hit on the finger and had to leave the field with the physio. The incident wasn't as good for the player as his recovery might take.
Reports suggest that Gill can be left out of the first game so as not to risk the injury more than it is. The management has a lot of options, including Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has yet to make his debut in the country. The 29-year-old has scored tons of runs in the domestic tournaments and looks set for his debut.
