The World Champions India are in Zimbabwe to play a 5-match T20I series, which started today, July 6. While playing the 1st T20I, the results expected from the team were completely different from what they delivered today. This has left the entire country in utter shock. India lost the first match against Zimbabwe by 13 runs which was an unfortunate event for the team.

On winning the toss, skipper Shubman Gill chose to field first, which turned out to be fruitful, but Zimbabwe scored 115 runs, scoring 25 runs in the last five overs. They lost constant wickets, which pushed them out of the game. Only Clive Madande played sensibly and scored 29 runs off 25 balls, including four boundaries. Ravi Bishnoi was the star Indian bowler who claimed four wickets and conceded 13 runs in his spell.

In the second innings, India lost Abhishek Sharma in the first over on a duck, which created pressure on the team. Then Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill continued for a while but couldn't manage to take the team past the victory line. Except for Gill, no other batter crossed the 20-run mark. ZImbabwe's skipper Sikandar Raza took three wickets and conceded 25 runs.

We told the boys to give it our all: Clive Madande

After scoring a brilliant 29 runs off 25 balls, including four boundaries, Clive Madande outplayed the batters of both teams. He remained calm throughout the match and helped his team reach a respectable score. Madande was the sole reason behind Zimbabwe's 115 runs. In the upcoming matches, India will have to keep him under the radar.

"Just wanted to play throughout the innings, tried to get as many as we could. Tried to protect my partner, ended up getting 115 which was okay on this wicket. Told him (Chatara) simple things, I tried to let him play just 2 balls in an over. We told the boys to give it our all and to give our 100% no matter what," said Clive Madande
