Young Harshwardhan Dalal scored 400 runs during the Col CK Nayudu Trophy game against Mumbai. This was the first time in the history of the tournament that a batter scored 400 runs in an innings. The former highest was held by Sameer Rizvi who has played for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
Harshwardhan Dala was out for 428 runs from 465 balls with the help of 46 fours and 12 sixes. Thanks to the effort by the right-handed batter Haryana were able to post 742 runs on the board. Sameer Rizvi had scored 312 runs for Uttar Pradesh against Saurashtra in the same tournament.
Young Harshwardhan Dalal batted well as he took the attack to the Mumbai bowlers. At no stage did the youngster look out of sorts as he played delightful shots across the park. When he reached the 400 mark, all of his teammates stood up to give him warm applause.
Mumbai in huge trouble against Haryana
Arsh Ranga was the next-best batter for Haryana as he opened the batting with Dalal and added 410 for the first wicket in 98 overs. Ranga scored 151 off 311 balls with 18 fours and a six. Sarvesh Rohilla with 48 off 59 balls helped Haryana reach the massive total on the board.
In reply Mumbai were all out for 162 in their 1st innings, Manan Bhatt’s 47 and Ayush Vartak’s 37 was the beat score for Mumbai. Parth Vats picked fifer for Haryana as they enforced the follow-on for Mumbai.
In their 2nd essay, Mumbai were placed at 38 for 3 having lost openers Awais Khan and Sourabh Singh for 11 runs each. Nutan Goel was the third batter to be dismissed for one as Manan Bhatt and Atharva Bhosale were not out on 7 and 2 respectively. Parth Vats, Rohan Raina, and Piyush Dahiya had picked a wicket each. Mumbai have a lot to do to avoid an innings defeat after the terrific efforts by Yashvardhan Dayal.
