Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The left-handed batter has dropped a huge bombshell for many cricket fans. Indian Express has reported that Jaiswal has submitted a written request to the Mumbai Cricket Association to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for Goa.
It isn’t clear what prompted this move as Jaiswal is one of the biggest names in Mumbai cricket. The left-handed batter apparently is keen on moving to Goa for personal reasons. One MCA source, while speaking to the Indian Express, had said, “He has sought a NOC from us and has cited that the reason for his move to Goa as personal.”
Arjun Tendulkar is one of the well-known names who is part of the Goa team. Siddhesh Lad spent a few seasons in Goa before making his return to Mumbai ahead of the last Ranji Trophy season. Jaiswal had played a key role in Mumbai winning the title a few seasons ago under Ajinkya Rahane.
Rajasthan Royals set to lock horns with Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 encounter
After three games in the IPL 2025 season, Rajasthan Royals are currently second from bottom in the league. Royals led by Riyan Parag lost their first two games of the season to Hyderabad and Kolkata before beating Chennai in their second home match in Guwahati. The next game for the Royals will be against the high-flying Punjab Kings’ side, who have won both their games so far.
Sanju Samson has flown back to the center of excellence in a bid to get clearance to keep wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been a huge batter for RR in the past few seasons, hasn’t had a great time with the bat so far. In the three games so far this season, Jaiswal has been able to score a mere 34 runs, with 29 of them coming in a single match.
Punjab will be hosting their first home game of the season at the Mullanpur Stadium on Sunday. So far Shreyas Iyer and his team have beaten Gujarat Titans away from home and also Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets to surge to the second spot in the IPL 2025 table.
