Indian cricket team has decided to release three players from duties during the ongoing Australian tour. As per reports the players are Yash Dayal, Mukesh Kumar, and Navdeep Saini who are part of the squad as traveling reserves. The trio have been active in the nets helping the batters prepare for the matches.
According to reports carried by Times of India, the three stars will fly back to India to take part in the Vijay Hazare Tournament. Mukesh Kumar was part of the India A side which took on Australia A side ahead of the Border Gavaskar series. Navdeep Saini was already named the reserve for the tour while Yash Dayal was a last minute addition.
Mukesh Kumar will join Mohammed Shami in the Bengal squad for the tournament. Yash Dayal and Navdeep Saini will play for Uttar Pradesh and Delhi during India’s premier 50-over domestic tournament.
Mohammed Shami named in Bengal squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy
34-year-old pacer Mohammed Shami has been named in Bengal’s squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. It was believed that Shami will fly to Australia and join the Indian squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. At the end of the Adelaide Test, Rohit Sharma had said the door was open for Shami to return but the call wasn’t entirely his.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra during his YouTube chat said “Mohammed Shani has played a lot of cricket. He recently returned after a long break. There were doubts on his fitness but the fast bowler has played several matches in Dometic cricket and looks fine.”
“When you asked Rohit Sharma about Shami, he said that the door is open but they can’t take risk with him. This was a mixed response about whether Shami will go to Australia or not. Things point out that he is not going to join the team. If you are not sure, it means he doesn’t have a chance. This is sad story but this the reality” said Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra was worried with Shami’s fitness and the his chances of getting injured if he travels to Australia when he said “The captain, coach and selectors are not convinced and they think he is not yet ready for international matches. He had a swelling twice in his knee and that could impact him if he plays for India.”
