Will India get rid of Travis 'HEADache' in Brisbane Test? Here's what batter's stats say in last 3 innings

The 30-year-old’s batting stats in the last three innings at the Gabba in Brisbane seem to give a bit of relief for the Indian camp as the third and next Test of the series will be played at this very venue.

Star Australia batter and team’s vice-captain in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Travis Head has been one of the prime concerns, especially for Team India since last year’s ODI World Cup 2023 Final. Head has always been seen performing to his best when it comes to performing against India and that too in the crucial games that matter most for the Aussies.

The Southpaw gave a similar headache to India in the second Test of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, played in Adelaide. He smashed an amazing century, scoring 140 runs before getting bowled by Mohammed Siraj followed by a misunderstanding and a heated exchange.
However, the 30-year-old’s batting stats in the last three innings at the Gabba in Brisbane seem to give a bit of relief for the Indian camp as the third and next Test of the series will be played at this very venue later this week.

Three successive golden ducks for Travis Head in last 3 ‘Gabba’ appearances

Last time, Head took the field at Gabba to bat earlier this year in January in the Test match against West Indies. He was dismissed on the golden ducks in both innings. In the first innings, Head was caught by Joshua Da Silva off Kemar Roach’s delivery followed by a ‘bowled’ dismissal by young Caribbean pacer Shamar Joseph in the second innings. His misery stayed with him in both innings of the game against West Indies as he went back to the pavilion on the golden ducks.

Before two successive golden ducks against West Indies in the same Test, it was in December 2022, when Travis Head was dismissed on a golden duck by star Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabad in the second innings of the Australia vs South Africa Test.

His poor string of form at the Gabba in Brisbane could be a moral advantage for Rohit Sharma’s India to tackle him in the all-important fixture of BGT’s current edition.

Speaking of the current scoreline of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between Australia and India, the five-match Test series is currently levelled with the scoreline of 1-1 after the hosts registered a massive 10-wicket win in the previous Test at Adelaide.
