Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler Digvesh Singh Rathi is in the news for antics again during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Mumbai Indians. The bowler was seen giving Naman Dhir his now famous ‘Notebook’ send-off in the LSG vs Mumbai Indians game on Friday.

The incident happened in the first ball of the ninth over just after the first time-out was taken. Dhir was batting on 46 when he inside edged the ball back into his stumps to help LSG take their third wicket of the game. Dhir’s knock came off just 24 balls with three sixes and four boundaries.

Once the wicket feel, Rathi could be seen using the Hasaranga celebration followed by the ‘Notebook’ taunt. The 25-year-old could invite trouble for himself from the BCCI and the IPL as far as the fair play is concerned. BCCI had given the young bowler a breach under the Article 2.5 rules which is regarding “using action, language, or gesture which could disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction”

Suryakumar Yadav fifty keeps MI in the hunt

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians were very well in with a chance to chase down the 204-run target by LSG. Suryakumar Yadav who was playing his 100th game for MI scored a brilliant fifty to keep his team in the game. Dhir and Yadav had added 69 runs for the third wicket in just 35 balls.

Hardik Pandya led the way for MI with the ball as the 31-year-old picked his maiden fifer in the IPL. Pandya began by dismissing Nicholas Pooran for 12 runs before getting Rishabh Pant out for just two runs. MI’s skipper then got the key wicket of Aiden Markram for 53 runs. Markram got his runs off 38 balls with two boundaries and four huge sixes.

The fifer came when Pandya got the wickets of David Miller for 27 and Akash Deep for a golden duck. In the end LSG managed to score 203 runs for the loss of eight wickets to set a daunting task for MI to win their second game of the season.
