During the opening game of the tri-series versus Sri Lanka on Sunday, April 27, in Colombo, the Indian women's cricket team was spotted wearing black armbands in remembrance of the victims of the Pahalgam terror incident. 26 tourists were killed in the April 22 incident at Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, when militants opened fire on tourists.
The attack on the tourist has been attributed to the Resistance Front (TRF), a branch of the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The world's leading leaders have widely criticized this act since it occurred. In remembrance of the victims, the Indian women's team wore black armbands during the tri-series opener. This is not the first time the cricketing world has come together to show support. Recently, the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) was preceded by a minute of silence in which the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) denounced the attack.

Additionally, the umpires and players honored the victims by donning black armbands. Additionally, the cricket community supported the country at this difficult time by refusing to let off fireworks or cheerleaders during the match. The captains of MI and SRH, Pat Cummins and Hardik Pandya, also denounced the terrorist act at the toss. Also, during the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) showed their support for the victims.
At Eden Gardens in Kolkata, both teams' players donned black armbands, and there was a minute of silence before the game. In observance of the tradition, the Eden bell, which has been rung before a game for several years, was not rung on Saturday.
