Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a thrilling last-over encounter at the Eden Gardens by two wickets. With this win, they have hampered KKR's chances of making it to the qualifiers. Ajinkya Rahne and his men will have tow in both their remaining games and also rely on other teams' performances.
With the bat, Dewald Brevis was the star of the night. After being five down, he and Shivam Dube were cautious at first, but then Brevis exploded and hit 30 runs in a single over against Vaibhav in the 11th. This was a game-changing moment for them as they were back in the hunt to win the match.
With the ball, Noor Ahmad was brilliant in his spell, taking four crucial wickets. Apart from Andre Russell, he got the wickets of Sunil Narine, the in-form Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and the dangerous Rinku Singh. Thanks to his efforts, KKR were restricted to a score of 179, which was well within CSK’s reach. For KKR, Vaibhav Arora also took three wickets.
