Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets to reach the top spot in the points table of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The game was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday. The visiting skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and asked DC to bat first. Batting first, the hosts posted a total of 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
The veteran DC wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul scored 41 runs off 39 balls, with three fours, followed by Tristan Stubbs’ quick 34 runs off just 18 balls, with five fours and a six. Besides these two, Abishek Porel and Faf du Plessis also contributed with 28 and 22 runs, respectively. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood scalped 3 and 2 wickets for RCB in the first innings, alongside a wicket each picked by Yash Dayal and Krunal Pandya.
While chasing the target, the star all-rounder Krunal Pandya played an unbeaten and match-winning knock of 73 runs off just 47 balls, with five fours and four sixes. Earlier in the innings, former skipper and batting stalwart Virat Kohli also played a crucial half-century knock, scoring 51 runs off 47 balls, with 4 fours. Eventually, RCB won the game by 6 wickets to register their seventh win in the tournament.
