The 25-year-old was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for INR 30 lakhs during the IPL 2025 auctions last November. Born on July 10th, 1999, young Satyanarayana Raju is a decent medium pacer who can surprise the batter with his pace of the wicket. The right-arm seamer relies more on wicket-to-wicket bowling and can get key wickets with the ball.

So far, Raju has played seven T20 matches for Andhra Pradesh and picked seven wickets. The youngster is also a decent lower-order batter, can hit the ball big and has scored 11 runs so far with a strike rate of 122. Mumbai Indians, who have a great scouting system, will hope the youngster from Andhra can do justice to his talents.

Matheesha Pathirana rested for opening game vs MI

Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana was rested for the game as Nathan Ellis was given his first game for CSK. Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad is the other overseas player, along with Rachin Ravindra and Sam Curran, who makes his return to CSK.

Gaikwad Opts to Bowl First, Aims to Adapt to Unknown Pitch Conditions

Speaking at the toss, Gaikwad said, “We are bowling first. Playing on this pitch for the first time, so don't really know how it will play. So we just want to adapt and chase accordingly. Looks a good wicket to bat. Prep has been good. We had our young wicket-keeper coming back early to the camp.”

Suryakumar Yadav Confident Batting First, Expects a Competitive Clash

Mumbai Indians skipper Suryakumar Yadav said, “I am good with batting first. We had a lovely camp back home; we were here 2-3 days before. Both are unbelievable franchises in terms of achievements. I am sure it will be a good game." For MI, the overseas players are Ryan Rickelton, Will Jacks, Mitchell Santner, and Trent Boult.
