Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to field yet another pacer with immense potential in their season opening match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. 23-year-old Prince Yadav has been named in the starting XI for LSG in the game against Delhi Capitals that is being played in Visakhapatnam.

Prince Yadav, is a pacer from Delhi who stole the headlines with his searing pace during the 2024 Delhi Premier League. Yadav, born on 12th December 2001 has the ability to bowl in the early to mid-140 KPH range. The right-arm seamer in fact was a net bowler for Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2023 season.
During the IPL auctions last year, Yadav was purchased for INR 30 Lakhs by Lucknow. Rishabh Pant, who is also a member of the Delhi cricket team knows all the qualities that the young pacer brings to the table. In eight T20 games, Yadav has picked 11 wickets with a best of 3/36 which was against Uttar Pradesh during the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. His scalps included Rinku Singh and Sameer Rizvi who are considered T20 heavyweights with the bat.
Delhi Capitals win the toss and choose to bowl first
Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. Abhishek Porel came in for KL Rahul who is in Mumbai as he is expecting the birth of his first child. This is the first time, Axar Patel is leading a side in the IPL after replacing Rishabh Pant as the skipper.
Speaking at the to the host broadcaster at the toss, Patel said, “We are going to bowl first. It's the dew factor, we don't want to take any risk, that's why we are bowling first. I have played with Pant before; he knows me and I know him. We know our tricks. I have played a lot for the Capitals; we have a well-balanced side.”
Rishabh Pant said, “I wanted to bowl first but It's a good wicket so we can bat well and put up a good score. I have played for DC all my life, so a lot of emotions there. Preparations have been well; everyone is in the right shape and in the right frame of mind.”
