The Indian cricket team has included two talented players in the first ODI game against England: Harshit Rana and Yashasvi Jaiswal. While Rana's debut was anticipated, Jaiswal came out of the syllabus. The two players have shown their skillset in T20Is and Tests, and that is the main reason why they have been included in India'splaying XI against England.

Rana was the concussion substitute for Shivam Dube in the fourth T20I game against England, where he claimed three wickets and conceded 33 runs. It was his debut game in the shorter format, and he just got to bowl in the second innings. However, he wasn't added in the fifth game. But his performance spoke for itself as he claimed some of the most important wickets in the game.

When it comes to Jaiswal, he has been in red-hot form. His performance was just brilliant in Australia ,and even though he hadn't played any ODI games, he was still picked up as a backup opener for the series against England and the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. Jaiswal has a pretty good record in domestic cricket, and his current form are the two solid reasons behind his inclusion.

Virat Kohli to miss first ODI game against England

India's star batter, Virat Kohli, is set to miss the first ODI game against England in Nagpur. During the toss, captain Rohit Sharma mentioned that Kohli sustained a knee injury last night due to which he has been rested for the game. Kohli's performance has taken a drip in the recent past but his inclusion in the ODI series is extremely important for India ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.

"Nice to get some time off, it's a fresh start and this is a great chance to do well. It's very important to get some gametime, try and maximize whatever opportunity we have. Jaiswal and Harshit are making their debuts, unfortunately Virat isn't playing, he had a knee problem last night," said Rohit Sharma at the toss.
