The mega auction for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. After the release of the retention list from the franchises, the IPL committee released the registered player's list. As per the list, South Africa has the most registrations, with 91 players. After them are the Aussies, with 76 registrations.

Some of the best players from different countries are set to come under the hammer, increasing the entertainment level of the mega auction. Around 1,574 players have registered for the auction, including 320 capped, 1224 uncapped, 409 overseas, and 30 from Associate Nations. Franchises will look to fill a total of 204 slots during the mega auction.

The most shocking registration was of James Anderson, who is preparing for his debut in the IPL 2025. His base price is INR 1.25 crores. With his experience, any franchise will be extremely lucky to have him on their team. The 42-year-old legendary bowler played his last T20 game in 2014 for Lancashire.

The anticipation for the mega auction 2024 is on the rise as players like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant will be open for bidding by the franchise. The stakes will be high as they are the best in the league and have the captaincy experience as well.

The franchises like PBKS and RCB will bid with an open purse for the players since they don't have any captaincy candidates on the team. Players like Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, and Faf du Plessis will also be auctioned.
