Varun Chakaravarthy made his comeback in the Indian team after a gap of three years. He played for India in the T20 World Cup 2021, and since then, he has been ignored by the selectors even after performing consistently for years. Starting from IPL to domestic cricket, his performance has been extremely impressive, but no one knows the reason behind his ignorance. After his solid comeback in the 1st T20I against Bangladesh, Varun opened up about how he felt all these years waiting for his chance to come.

"It has been 3 years, whenever the team is announced, I used to feel like why is my name not there - used to keep thinking, that kind of gave me the motivation & to go all out - I should try to make a comeback then I started playing a lot of domestic games - I give a lot of importance & that helped me a lot," said Varun Chakaravarthy

Varun claimed three wickets in the 1st T20 game and maintained his line and length throughout the match. He provided support to Arshdeep Singh from the other end. Singh also claimed three wickets and dismissed some of the best batters in the game. With their help, India restricted Bangladesh to under 130 runs.

There's a breeze from the end I was bowling: Arshdeep Singh

In the absence of senior players, Arshdeep Singh played a fair game in taking three wickets against Bangladesh. For his stunning performance, Arshdeep won the Player of the Match award. At the presentation, he spoke about the direction of the wind and how he improvised on that. Moreover, he didn't experiment with the ball much, which helped him get wickets.

"There's breeze from the end I was bowling. I didn't get the wicket the way I wanted but the ball is coming good from the hand. It's minor changes in the run-up, in the wrist, I keep learning and exploring things," said Arshdeep Singh at the post-match presentation.
