When is the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 resuming again?

The Ranji Trophy 2024-25 phase two is about to commence on January 23, 2025, five days after the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The players won't get much break from their busy schedules as the domestic tournaments have piled on one after another. After the first half of the Ranji Trophy was over, the 20-over Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy were sandwiched in between. 

The reasons behind this setup were the weather and to manage the workloads of the players. Several star players like Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, and many more will be part of the Ranji Trophy tournament. However, the players who are on the national team will be omitted from the second phase. 

The 32 teams in the elite division are divided into four groups each, where the top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals before the semi-finals and final. On the other hand, the plate group has six teams taking part in it.

As per reports, Rohit Sharma is set to play in the Ranji Trophy's second phase as requested by the selectors. Since the T20I series against England is starting before the ODIs, Rohit will have the opportunity to play Ranji.
