The Duleep Trophy 2024 has finally ended after six hectic back-to-back matches. After a rough start, India Team A won the finals against Team India C by 132 runs, which was quite inspiring. After strong players like Shubman Gill and KL Rahul left for the Bangladesh series, Team India A's fortune turned and they started winning all the games from there.

They topped the points table with two wins in three matches. Just below them was Team India C, who won one game out of three, and one game was tied. Team India A won the trophy and received a prize of Rs 1 crore, while the runners-up got Rs 50 lakh. The fees were hiked by the BCCI in 2024, which gave the players a great sense of motivation.

According to the new domestic structure, the players with more than 41 Ranji Trophy caps earn INR 60,000 per match day, and the players with 21-40 appearances get INR 50,000 per match day. Moreover, the players with 20 or fewer appearances earn INR 40,000 per match day. Hence, players who play almost all the games earn much more than players who just started their careers.

Sai Sudarshan's 111 runs went in vain as India C lost the finals

Team India C's batter Sai Sudarshan was in terrific form as he slammed 111 runs off 206 runs including 12 boundaries. He came in to bat at No. 3 when he was responsible for the team. Team India C got the target of 349 runs, which was huge. Sudarshan did try his best from one end, but none of the batters supported him from the other end, which was the reason behind their defeat in the finals.

Moreover, it was a brilliant performance from Shaswat Rawat, scoring 124 runs in the first innings. Due to his score, Team India A scored decently in the first innings. However, credit goes to Mayank Agarwal for handling the team really well throughout the tournament.
