Former Australian cricketer Stuart Clark has sided with Rishabh Pant over his dismissal in fourth Test match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne. Pant was batting on 28 runs when he was dismissed while playing a scoop shot. The shot was completely unnecessary as that moment, considering India's position. That shot received a lot of criticism from many former players.
However, Clark came in support of the player and urged everybody to cut him some slack. Pant's fearless approach has always been appreciated by the people and mistakes happen.
"We've seen him play it so many times and been so successful at it. We don't want to crucify him for getting it wrong occasionally because he's a world-class player but just the moment in the game, didn't call for it and he got it wrong," said Stuart Clark while speaking to PTI.
Moreover, Pant hasn't performed at all in the ongoing series, which is a matter of concern for the team. The middle order has become weak due to Pant's form. He still has three innings to prove his worth in the team since he's one of the best batters in the format.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid. You've got two fielders there, and you still go for that, you've missed the previous shot. And look where you've been caught. You've been caught at deep third man. That is throwing away your wicket. Not in the situation that India was. You have to understand the situation as well, you cannot say that that's your natural game. I'm sorry, that is not your natural game. That is a stupid shot. That is letting your team down badly" said Sunil Gavaskar.
