The ongoing Australia Domestic One-Day Cup 2024 saw something unexpected as Western Australia went from 52/2 to 53/10 against Tasmania within no time. In the 10th game, WA's start was a bit shaky as they lost the first batter in just ten runs. However, after that, D'Arcy Short and Cameron Bancroft formed a partnership of 35 runs, but it didn't last long, as Short was dismissed after scoring 22 runs.
The game's turning point came in when six batters got out on a duck. The bowling was so strong that the players couldn't take a run to get off the mark. The team had star Australian players, including Ashton Agar, Josh Inglis, Cooper Connolly, Ashton Turner, and Jhye Richardson. Except Inglis, all other batters were dismissed on a duck. However, the wicket-keeper batter Inglis didn't disturb the scoreboard much as he scored just one run.
Beau Webster was the star bowler of the match as he reduced the team to 53 runs, which was unusual. He claimed six wickets in six overs and gave away just 17 runs. Moreover, Billy Stanlake also claimed three wickets in seven overs. He also conceded just 12 runs.
Tasmania beat Western Australia by seven wickets
It was a thrilling game of cricket as Tasmania lost three wickets on 33 runs in a span of three overs. Even though the scores were extremely low, it felt like Western Australia had a chance to make a comeback in the game with Joel Paris' solid bowling in the 2nd innings. Opener Mitchell Owen scored a staggering 29 runs off 17 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes.
After three dismissals, Mathew Wade came in and scored 21 runs off 13 balls, including three boundaries and one six. Paris and Lance Morris made a great bowling effort as they tried to defend the low score. While Paris got two wickets, Morris got one.
